TASTE OF DC: NESTLE (NESCAFE) BOOTH

In conjunction with Art Institute of Washington's Public Relations department, this project provided the students with the opportunity to develop a concept for a booth featuring a cafe that would highlight Nestle's Nescafe during the annual "Taste of DC 2004" food festival. Consisting of a one day charette, I selected some of my best students from INT270 Design Process and divided them into three teams: "Ethereal", "Decadent International", and "Modern Sleek".

In addition to a concept statement, each team submitted an image board with inspirations, rendered floorplan & elevations, and materials & finishes board with specifications list. Nestle would select one of the projects to be built so budget considerations were included. It was a wonderful learning experience as the students dealt with the challenges of working with a team on a real project with such a tight deadline.

Team "Ethereal": Ricky Husty, Erik Gaghan and Kenya Hillman

Team "Decadent International": Kim Hughes, Lauren Barrett and Marcia Burroughs

Team "Modern Sleek": Christina DonBullian, Ashley Miller, and Joanna Rothrock
